Privacy notice and legal information
Plain-language, for a free personal tool. Version 2026-10-14.
Privacy notice
What leaves your device, and when
| What | When | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Your log, details and settings | Never, unless you export, share or sync them yourself | Stays in this browser on this device |
| A photo of your meter | When you scan | Read on the device; not saved and not sent |
| The sentence you typed in Quick log | Only if Smart parsing is on and the built-in rules are unsure | MSRX server, then the TypeSafe language service; nothing else from your log |
| A question typed into Ask GlucoNexa | Only when you send it. Your last 14 days of readings are added only if you tick the box in the chat | MSRX server, then Groq (an AI service) to write the answer; questions about doses, medicines or emergencies are answered with a fixed message and not sent to Groq. The chat is not kept |
| A barcode number | When you look up a packaged food | Open Food Facts |
| A snapshot link | When you make and send one | The data sits inside the link; whoever has the link can read it |
| A live link | While sharing is on and your app is open | Directly to the devices you invited, encrypted; a Cloudflare relay and a Google STUN server see device addresses, not your data |
There is no account, no advertising and no analytics in the app.
Your data and your responsibility
Your log, your details and your settings are stored on this device, in this browser. There is no account and no copy on our servers. Clearing site data, uninstalling the browser or app, losing or resetting the device, or a browser fault can erase them permanently, and we cannot recover them.
You are responsible for making your own backups (Privacy centre) and for keeping them safe. If you set an app lock code or a passphrase and forget it, nobody, including us, can recover what it protects.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, and for who can use your device. Anyone who can open your unlocked device can see your log unless you use the app lock.
Privacy
We do not collect, receive or store your health data. It never leaves your device unless you choose to move it: by exporting a backup or report, by sharing a snapshot link (the data sits inside the link itself), by turning on live sharing (the data goes directly to the devices you invite, see section 6), or by using an optional feature that is switched on by you.
Optional features that contact other services only when you use them include food lookup (Open Food Facts) and any smart-parse or similar helper shown in the app. When you use one, the text or search term you send goes to that service and is governed by its own terms. The app checks that you have chosen the feature before sending anything.
Ask GlucoNexa sends only the question you type to MSRX and to Groq, an AI service, to be answered. Your recent readings are added only when you tick the box that says so, for that chat, and are not kept by MSRX. Do not type your name or other personal details into it.
The details you give on the first screen (name and the optional fields) are stored encrypted on this device and are used only to personalise the app and, if you choose, your reports. The Privacy centre shows what the app holds and lets you delete it.
Sharing with others
You can share some of your records with people you choose, as a snapshot link (a fixed copy inside the link) or as a live link (updates sent directly from your device to theirs while your app is open). You decide what is shared, for how long, and with whom. Share only information you are entitled to share; if a profile belongs to someone else, you must have their permission or be their parent or legal guardian.
Live links are end-to-end encrypted and signed by your device. The operator never receives or stores the shared data. A relay service hosted on Cloudflare introduces the devices and, on some networks, forwards encrypted data it cannot read; the relay, a public connection server (STUN, run by Google) and the devices involved can see the internet (IP) addresses of the devices, as with any direct connection.
Anyone who has a link, and its passphrase if one was set, can see what it shares until it is turned off or ends, including anyone it is forwarded to. Turning a link off, or letting it end, stops further updates and asks the viewer's app to erase its saved copy. It cannot undo what someone has already seen, recorded or copied. The operator cannot see, recover, revoke or delete links or copies on your behalf.
Shared information is what you logged. It is not monitored by anyone, raises no alerts, and must not be relied on for emergencies or as medical advice, by you or by the people you share with. The operator is not responsible for how a person you share with uses the information, to the extent the law allows.
If you open a link someone shared with you, you must be the person it was meant for, keep it confidential, and use it only to support that person's care with their agreement. If it reached you by mistake, close it without opening the records and let the sender know.
Other services the app relies on
Parts of the app rely on independent services: our web host (Vercel) that delivers the app, a relay and network services for live links (Cloudflare and a public STUN server run by Google), an AI service for the helper (Groq), a language-model service that can check questions and read quick-log sentences (TypeSafe), and a food database for barcode lookups (Open Food Facts). Each has its own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for how those services work, for their availability, or for what they do with information sent to them. Some are used only when you switch a feature on.
Your privacy choices and complaints
Because your records stay on your device and we do not hold them, there is generally nothing on our side to access, correct or delete: you can do that yourself in the Privacy centre. For the little we may handle, such as a question sent to the AI helper (which we do not store) or technical logs kept by our web host, you can contact us through the contact page.
You may have rights under the law that applies to you, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. To raise a request or a grievance, use the contact page and describe what you need; we will aim to reply within 30 days.
Backups, deleting your data and storage status are in the Privacy centre inside the app.
Beta version
Beta version for testing. Not production ready.
This app is a beta version. It is shared with a small group of testers to try and to give feedback. It is not production ready and is not offered as a finished or dependable service.
It may contain mistakes, show wrong figures, lose or corrupt data, change, be reset or stop working without notice, and features may be added or removed. Keep your own records alongside it (your meter's memory, a paper log or your care team's records), make backups often, and never use it to make a health decision.
If you send feedback, we may use it to improve the app without owing you anything for it. Please do not include personal health details in feedback.
Ask GlucoNexa: AI helper notice
AI-generated answers. Please consult your doctor before deciding anything.
Ask GlucoNexa is an optional helper that uses artificial intelligence. Its answers are generated automatically, are not reviewed by a person, and may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable for you.
Answers are general information only. They are not medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment, a prescription or a recommendation for you personally, and using the helper does not create a doctor-patient or any other professional relationship. Consult your doctor or care team before you decide or change anything, including medicines, food, exercise and how you respond to a reading. In an emergency, call your local emergency number; do not use the helper.
You use the helper at your own risk and you are responsible for what you decide and do. Do not rely on it for urgent, time-critical or high-stakes decisions.
Questions you type, and your recent readings only if you tick the box that says so, are sent to a third-party AI service to produce the answer (see sections 5 and 8). Do not enter your name, contact details, government identity numbers or anyone else's personal information. Do not use the helper unlawfully, to try to get around its safeguards, or to produce harmful content.
The helper is limited to help with using the app, general explanations of readings and general food and activity ideas. It will not give doses or medicine changes or a diagnosis. We may limit, change, suspend or remove it at any time, and it may be unavailable.
If an answer seems wrong, unsafe or inappropriate, please tell us through the contact page.
Legal information
Who operates it
MSRX GlucoNexa is operated by MSRX, an individual-run project in India (msrx.co.in). Questions or concerns: contact page.
Not a medical device, not medical advice
The app is a record-keeping and pattern-viewing tool only. It is not a medical device, is not approved or certified as one, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
The app does not diagnose, prescribe, or tell you how much insulin or medicine to take. Any figure it shows (averages, time in range, estimated GMI, patterns, food or dose history) is a calculation from what was entered, and can be incomplete or wrong.
The optional Ask GlucoNexa helper can, if you ask, explain in general terms what a glucose number (or the recent readings you choose to include) means compared with common ranges and your own targets, and can suggest general food and activity ideas. That is general information produced by an AI service. It is not advice for you personally, not a diagnosis and not a monitoring service, it can be wrong or incomplete, and it never tells you what dose or medicine to take. Consult your doctor before deciding anything, including before changing what you eat or how you exercise.
Always follow the plan given by your doctor or care team. Never delay, change or skip treatment because of something shown in the app. If you have symptoms of very high or very low glucose, or feel unwell, get medical help immediately; do not rely on the app.
No warranty
The app is provided free, "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or that it will be error-free or keep your data. Features can change, move or be withdrawn at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss, injury, health outcome, loss of data, or direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, or from reliance on anything it shows. This includes any decision about food, medicine, insulin or care taken with the help of the app.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from the use of the app.
The complete terms are in the user agreement. This text is a plain-language draft and has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
